This DAP led project is one of nine assitive living projects approved for funding by the Technology Strategy Board. The project will develop an open access health home hub accommodating a series of plug and play style devices and services, and which can be scaled to meet specific future independent living provision for people suffering from chronic conditions as well as other user needs. Drawing on the large and inclusive DAP Consortium it will address major barriers to UK mainstreaming of assistive technologies in line with planned 2012 demonstrators. The project will:
- Establish user and performance requirements for the hub.
- Develop, in a coordinated way, hub prototypes and associated technologies suitable for piloting in demonstration homes/communities.
- Assess and address barriers to integrating of assistive technologies into the built environment and knowledge transfer.
